  • Chew! Chew your food at least 5 times and take smaller bites. Eating slowly will allow time for your stomach to tell your brain you’re full. Fast eaters eat more calories.
  • Buffet. Don’t serve your food at your table. Put distance between your plate and 2nd helpings. Instead, put it on the stove or counter, away from the table.
  • Sleep more. When we are tired, we eat more sugar filled carbohydrates to get a boost. Studies show people who sleep under 5 hours have 2x more belly fat. On the flip side, over sleepers who sleep 8+ hours are more sedentary. Find your happy slim sleeping point that works best for you.
  • No TV. Turn off the TV and mindless eating. Enjoy, taste and think about the foods you eat. You eat more when you watch TV and eat. Plus, sitting & watching TV burns 0 calories.
  • Water. Drink a glass of water before every meal. Water will fill you up and you will eat less. Often we are really thirsty and we just think we’re hungry.
  • Fat. Eat good fats, they make you feel fuller longer.
  • Fiber. Pick foods that take longer to chew such as a whole apple vs. apple sauce. The fiber will keep you fuller longer.
