Hula Girl Muffins - Okay, so we are all used to seeing the tempting case of muffins at Starbucks, right? Is that not the cruelest thing to do to us ever? Well, I have a fit fix for that. I make my own healthy muffins that I can grab and take to Starbucks to enjoy with my $5 coffee! They are much healthier than traditional muffins: I substitute apple sauce or coconut oil instead of butter and oil, add more fruit and protein. Make sure you grab a Hula Girl Muffin and enjoy with a source of clean protein such as: Greek Yogurt or a Protein Shaka Shake.
No Guilt Fruit Cobbler - I often make this on Sunday for a healthy dessert. Then I will have a little slice on top of protein rich, Greek Yogurt for a healthy breakfast. The fruit makes it so naturally sweet and filled with anti oxidants. I love that I can make it once and enjoy it all week.
Tofu Smoothie - Tofu is loaded with protein and adds a creamy texture to your smoothies. Simply add a scoop of silken tofu to 2 cups of milk (I like almond, coconut or soy milk), add 1/2 frozen banana, handful of berries, small handful of almonds, sprinkle of flax and/or wheat germ, 1/2 serving of protein powder and blend. And...your morning just got healthier and the traffic just got a bit more bearable.
Secret Weapon 4 minute Oatmeal - I love oatmeal because it provides lasting energy. I mix traditional oatmeal with steel cut oatmeal. My secret weapon is that I add an egg white. The complex carbohydrates and the clean protein are the perfect breakfast. Microwave for 30 sec. intervals, stirring in between. Top with Greek Yogurt, berries or dried fruit and nuts. Love it! Makes this several times per week.
Hawaiian Granola - I often take a little bag or cup of my Hawaiian Granola with me in the car if I'm super rushed. Or toss it in my purse. Better yet, sprinkle it on top of protein rich Greek Yogurt. I love the creaminess of the yogurt and the toasted granola with dried fruit, nuts and unsweetened coconut. Aloha!
