Healthy Hawaiian Kiana Kabobs & Fit Feta, Tomato, Basil Salad Recipe

Aloha! I LOVE Summer! It's my favorite time of the year!  Here is a favorite healthy recipe to pop on the grill. It's healthy, loaded with lean protein and the best part (if you often plan meals last minute like me) is that it only needs to marinate for 60 minutes. So many other recipes require hours or over night to marinade. Hope you enjoy it!

Healthy Hawaiian Kiana Kabobs


  • 1-2 packages of free range chicken tenders (skinless, boneless)
  • 3 cloves chopped garlic
  • 3 Tbs. teriyaki sauce
  • 3 Tbs. low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 Tbs. Olive Oil
  • 3 Tbs. Worcestershire Sauce (aka Woo Woo sauce 🙂
  • bunch of organic green onions
  • 3 Tbs. Lemon juice or juice of 1/2 large lemon
  • salt and pepper
  • Wooden skewers for the kabobs
  • 2 cups water


Soak the wooden skewers in water so they won't burn on the grill.

In a large plastic container, mix the garlic, low sodium soy sauce, lemon juice, teriyaki sauce, olive oil, Woo Woo sauce, salt & pepper.  Stir.  Add chicken. Cover and put in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Clean grill and brush with olive oil or non stick spray BEFORE you turn it on. Turn on to medium.  After an hour, drain chicken & thread onto wooden skewers, taking small threads so they are secure.

When the grill is nice and hot, grill chicken appx. 3-5 minutes per side (depending upon the thickness of your chicken strips).

When chicken is almost done, grill the green onions for 1-2 minutes until browned.  Serve with chicken on top of onions.  Try with side salad of Fit Feta, Basil & Tomato Salad, recipe here. Aloha!
